Who am I?
Don't be getting all philosophic on me, Recruit! You will discover who you are soon enough. By doing missions that you are asked to do in the world of Xenome, you'll discover quite a lot about who you are and what is going on.
What is a Xenome?
A Xenome is a specially designed chromosome that can be integrated into your own genome. To date, chemists have learned how to create over a dozen fully functional Xenomes. You can purchase Xenomes from chemists in Silica Flats if you have all the necessary materials.
What is XNA?
XNA, or Xenonucleic Acid, is the material used to create items of great value. It can be used to create Xenomes that will enable traits and abilities that would otherwise be impossible for a human to learn. Passive XNA types can be equipped from the character sheet from within the menu system. Active XNA can be added to an ability pane to allow use of the skill. In turn, these skills will grant the player the freedom to play the game differently depending on his/her playstyle.
What are Pingers?
Pingers are a means of travel that will allow the player to instantly jump from one place to another on the map as long as they have unlocked both locations.
Who is the Scientist?
Very little is known about the Scientist by anyone still alive. The closest description comes from Joshua Ansel, CEO of Peak Fabrications in Peaktown. He says, “Sometimes the strong, silent types are really only trying to hide the fact that they're insane.”
How will my character progress?
Your character will gain XP by killing monsters and completing missions, gaining better equipment in the process. This XP will level your character up. Your level will increase your statistics. You may start out as a 30 pound weakling, but by the game's end, you'll be a force to be reckoned with.
What is the highest maximum level?
The current maximum level for Xenome: Episode 1 is 30.
What do all of these statistics and numbers on the character sheet mean?
They can mean any number of things. Some will increase your Health, some will increase your Energy pool, Power, etc. It's up to you to determine which stats best suit your play style and run with it. Would you rather be a sniper, taking aim at some poor unsuspecting victim from a distance, or a master of melee pummeling gangs of people at one time?
How do I equip a piece of gear that I just picked up?
Select the item that you'd like to equip from your inventory manager and select the “Equip” button. You can also equip the item from your equipment manager.
How do I complete a mission?
Talk to an NPC with a yellow “!” over their head and accept the mission. Perform the objectives of the mission. Complete the mission by speaking to an NPC with a “?” over their head. Remember, if you're having trouble, you can open your mission log from the User Interface to get more details on the tasks that need to be performed in order to finish a mission.
How do I change abilities and/or XNA?
Much like the character sheet, abilities and XNA can be swapped out from the menu system. Select an ability and then select which button will activate that ability.
