Harpy Droid
Bio
Originally conceived by Chyron Robotics as a sentinel, the Harpy Droid was perfected after sixteen months of design, testing, and advancements in artificial intelligence. Militarized corporations found the Harpy easy to upgrade and equip with weapons and enhanced power sources, allowing for wide varieties of the droid to be placed in service.
Of all the potentially lethal non-humanoids found in the wastelands, none pose a greater threat than this adversary. Versatile, quick, and intelligent - everything a growing hero should avoid. Though initially used as sentries for the defense of military bases, the Harpy has more recently been sold to civilian buyers for protection.
Analysts estimate that approximately 350 of the original 23,000 high-performance units have gone 'rogue' due to an oversight in the artificial intelligence engineering. These particularly dangerous Harpy units have been sighted in multiple zones, seemingly following an unknown protocol which could indicate sabotage rather than faulty code.
Researchers have attempted to find and disable these Harpies, but most seem to initiate a self-destruct mechanism. This only serves to further deepen the conspiracy theories that revolve around the rogue units.

Conclusion
The Harpy is a merciless combatant, without feeling or remorse. Travelers and soldiers alike should be weary of this droid, if not fully trained on operation or programming. Should you spot a rogue Harpy, please record the coordinates of location and time of sight, then report to your local Union Representative.
Thank you, Citizen.
