History
The last 300 years haven't been easy for the human race. Plagued by illness, greed and war, survivors now struggle to maintain grasp of the remaining resources.

Long ago, technological advances had left the Earth overpopulated. Subsequent issues with pollution and mass illness left that same population struggling for survival. A decision was made to radiate the land in order to save what was left of civilization. This "Cure," as it has come to be known, left the landscape desolate and the population culled.
In an earlier attempt to save humanity, an expedition team had been sent in search of other inhabitable planets. Contact with this expedition team was lost shortly after departure and hope was all but forgotten. Some people that stayed behind were chosen to live in the relative safety of the underground while those remaining on the surface would eventually be affected by the aforementioned events and "evolve," laying claim to what was left of the topside.
The Nukers are one such "evolved" species. A tribal band of mutated humans that usurped the land while the remaining population huddled underground. Their disdain for their fellow humans stemming from being forsaken by their fellow man.
Enter the rise of the world's most powerful faction. The Corporation known as Union. This company now serves as both government and military. Through the years, the Union managed to make enough technological breakthroughs to allow humans to once again visit the surface of the planet.
One such technology, named XNA, or Xenonucleic Acid, is used to implant foreign chromosomes into a human and give the beneficiary extra traits and skills that will allow them to survive in an environment that is no longer fit for our civilization. With this tech, they managed to retake sections of the topside.
After the passing of many years, an expedition team returned to Earth. They had discovered another planet. Huhsis was a planet with a harsh atmosphere but it did manage to sustain life. With the discovery of this planet, new technologies and materials were returned to Earth. Along with this, they brought hope that the populace would be able to migrate from the Earth to this new planet.
The advent of a second major faction, Prime, came about when leaders of the Expedition Team ceded from Union after feuding with the ruling party over interplanetary colonization. Prime argued that Huhsis was not ready for mass colonization and Union argued that there wasn't a choice in the matter. The race had to move on in order to survive. Union would eventually end up sending a military force to the Huhsis to establish a base and means of travel. Prime would end up enlisting other Union defectors which would only serve to irritate the situation. The rift created between the two opposing Corporations would not be reconciled and eventually divided the factions far enough apart to lead to war.
This brings us to present day. Both Union and Prime battle for control of the colonization of Earth, Huhsis, and any other planet that has yet to be discovered. The year is 2309 and mankind finds itself, once again, on the brink of extinction.
